It’s Finally Fall! Check Out Some Of Arizona’s Best Dog-Friendly Hiking Trails

Follow @softspotapp

Fall is arguably the most gorgeous month in Arizona, and now that it’s just around the corner, it’s time to scope out some wonderful ways to enjoy the great outdoors with your dog! After being cooped up inside to avoid the swelter all summer, your pooch will appreciate the opportunity to stretch his legs and head out on a hike with you.

Below are 6 of the best pet-friendly hiking trails that our beautiful state has to offer, according to BringFido. As always, make sure to check out each organization’s website or call ahead for rules and regulations.

Sedona Red Rock Adventure Tours

Sedona

You and your pooch can choose your own adventure on one of these tours! Explore some gorgeous scenery with a guide, and you’ll learn something, too. Not only are these folks dog-friendly, they love four-legged guests; in fact, they sometimes offer discounts for people who bring their pups!

Agua Caliente Hill Trail

Tucson

If you and your companion are up for a challenge, consider giving this trail a spin! Bring Fido suggests only attempting this rigorous hike with your hound on a cool day.

Kendrick Park Watchable Wildlife Trail

Flagstaff

This trail lets you meander around multiple habitats. It features a handicap-accessible quarter-mile paved loop as well as a longer loop that offers an easy hike. If your canine is calm around other animals, you’ll both enjoy observing the wildlife.

Shaw Butte

Phoenix

Take in gorgeous mountain views with your BFF (best furry friend) by your side! This 4.6-mile loop offers a great workout without being too strenuous — and the beautiful scenery doesn’t hurt, either!

Iron King Trail

Prescott

Stroll along this former railway for a lovely hike that’s laced with history. As BringFido explains: “The Iron King Trail (Prescott to Prescott Valley) is one of 1600 rail-trails supported by Rails-to-Trails Conservancy, a nonprofit organization that is working to create a nationwide network of trails from former rail lines and connecting corridors.”

Gateway Trailhead

Scottsdale

This network of trails has wonderful options for cyclists, children, and of course, pets and their parents! Bring the whole family to learn, explore, and enjoy some fresh air … four-legged members included!

Not enough options? No problem. Just head over to BringFido for even more ideas.
